I love pale skin. I’ve been sporting the pale look for two years and it even became a little ‘trademark’ of mine.
The less bright part of being a pale girl, is finding the right colours for your skin in makeup. Finding the right makeup for a pale girl can easily be described as a Hell and is probably, together with finding makeup for the darkest skin tones, the hardest thing ever.
That’s why today, I’be put together this ‘guide’ to give you some tips and products on finding the right products for your pale skin.
A good foundation for your skin is important, especially for those of us who weren’t blessed with a blemish free face. I’m currently loving the L’Oreal Infallible 24H foundation in 015 Porcelain– this is a shade that is very fair, even a little too fair for me. I bought this in Newcastle at Superdrug where they had the entire colour range on display, so I would go for one shade lighter even if you look like you haven’t seen sunlight in a while. Another great product is the Revlon Colorstay 24H foundation for oily/combination skin in Ivory. This also comes in a version for dry skin, which is great because obviously not everyone has the same skin type and this way everyone can wear the same foundation they love. This stays put and isn’t drying at all!
For concealer I had a bit of a harder time finding one that is good for light skin. Foundation isn’t that hard as it comes in a lot of shades but concealer doesn’t work that easily. For highlighting concealer, the L’Oreal True Match The Touchè Magique Highlighting and Correcting concealer in Ivory Beige is my favourite. It covers and highlights as well, it stays on and doesn’t crease. What more do you want? It has a slight yellow undertone which is quite brightening. I also have been enjoying the YSL Touche Èclat a lot lately- it doesn’t give coverage and it just brightens, but something about it just makes my undereye circles disappear just like that. I got it in the shade 1– it has very heavy pink undertones in it and I’d love to try the 1.5 version as well. Collection Lasting Perfection is also a great concealer and very brightening, cheap and long lasting.
For normal concealers, you should check out the MAC ranges of concealers- they come in a gigantic range of shades and a lot of different types of concealers.
Powders are great when they’re translucent, no colour and no cakey finish or anything. The Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent is lovely and MAC, again, also makes a few good powder like their MAC Blot Powder or one of their Natural Mineralize Skin Finishes.
